Coinbase Reveals AI Finance and Stock Plans

Coinbase unveils AI finance tools, x402 payments, tokenized stock plans, and new Base updates for users and developers.

Coinbase has outlined a broad product expansion that places artificial intelligence, tokenized assets, and advanced trading tools at the center of its next phase of development.

The company said its latest plans include pre-IPO perpetual futures, stock options, and tokenized stocks, as it continues to build what it describes as an “everything exchange.”

The update also covered changes to Coinbase Advanced, where the company said it has redesigned the platform and begun combining liquidity across United States and international users.

It linked the announcements to work across its employee base and internal AI agents, which the company said supported the delivery of several new products and developer services.

Coinbase Expands AI-Powered Finance

Coinbase said it wants to become a financial account for artificial intelligence. The company plans to let users give AI agents digital wallets

These wallets could help agents send payments and manage basic financial tasks.

The exchange also said users may connect Coinbase accounts to preferred large language models.

This could allow AI tools to work with financial services through user-approved access. However, Coinbase did not provide a full rollout schedule.

In addition, Coinbase promoted x402 as a system for agentic payments.

The tool is designed to support payments made by AI agents and software services. Coinbase said Base has processed about 93% of all x402 transactions worldwide.

Tokenized Stocks and Trading Products

Coinbase also shared plans for pre-IPO perpetual futures, stock options, and tokenized stocks.

The company said tokenized stocks are expected to arrive soon. These products would expand Coinbase beyond regular crypto trading.

The company also announced a redesign of Coinbase Advanced. The platform serves active traders who need more market tools.

Coinbase said the redesign is part of its wider exchange plan. Meanwhile, Coinbase has started combining liquidity across different user groups.

This includes users in the United States and users outside the country. The company also cited liquidity links between Coinbase and Deribit users.

Stablecoin Payments and Base Updates

Coinbase Dev introduced new services for businesses using stablecoin payments.

The company said the accounts are fully custodial and use its compliance stack. A new dashboard was also launched for developer tools.

The dashboard gives developers one place to manage Coinbase services. It is aimed at teams building payment and blockchain products

Coinbase presented the update as part of its business payments work. For Base, Coinbase announced private transactions and Base App access on the web.

These updates add new features for users and developers on the network. At SuperAI, Coinbase Singapore Country Director Hassan Ahmed discussed the matter at the Base booth.

The company’s announcements show a wider move into AI finance, tokenized assets, and digital payments.

Coinbase is also building links between trading products and developer tools. For crypto users, the updates place Coinbase AI-powered finance at the center of its next plans.
